Keith on Obama...

"Recently the New Yorker magazine put Barack Obama & his wife on the cover dressed as terrorist. We should be OUTRAGED! It's these hidden tactics that are designed to scare the American people into voting for who they want to be the next president of the United States. Fox news continues to belittle & disrespect Obama & his wife by calling her a "baby mamma"…. baby mamma? That is a slur commonly used to refer to single black mothers raising a child alone. Michelle Obama is not a baby mama & I don't think she has ever been one either. People you must understand that the media is very smart. They know who they can say things about & who they cannot. My father once told me that "White-Collar America" doesn’t play by the same rules as you & I. They only understand one thing & that's money. You must understand that the one with the money wins {so they think}. With that being said stand up & take away what they most value! You can start by saying "I'm canceling my subscription to the New Yorker" Once money is lost they'll feel like we matter as a race, right now they don't feel like we matter. As far as Fox network is concerned BOYCOTT! Announce that any advertiser that places ads on your network we'll boycott. Watch how many advertisers pull out of Fox network in fear of losing consumers & revenue. My people of America WAKE UP!!! You have so much power but you've been brain washed to not care anymore. Your spirit has been weakened. I shout to you now WAKE UP & take back what is yours. If Martin Luther King was alive today he'd be extremely disappointed at how we allow networks & corporations to do the things that they do today. We've been numbed to the attacks of the enemy to the point that you hardly notice them anymore. Stop & ponder for a moment about all the sex & violence you see on BET that our youth are fed every day. Imus is back on the radio, do we truly care for Sean Bell? & most of us already forgot about Jena 6! Don't be numb to this any longer, please wake up before you wake up & notice it's too late..........”

Big Keiths Blog_May 6th

Today is May 6th. I've been playing Grand Theft Auto 4 the entire weekend. I should have never started playing this game. Then I got a head set & got on-line...big mistake! I can't go an hour with out getting on line with GTA4. I haven't took a bath or changed clothes since I started to play this game. I just sit at home all night & play till the sun comes up. I need help, I need GTA detox or something, I'm addicted, I know. I haven't made one beat or even picked up my bass since I started playing this game. Ya see the problem about great video games is that they take over your life. I want my life back, I gotta get back in the studio........it's 11:30am...one moment, I'm gonna go play real quick. I'll be right back..............................................................................................................................................................................................................you still here? Ok the current time is 1pm. I just can't stop playing this game. I'm gonna try to finish this blog & go to the gym...ahhh who am I fooling? I'm just gonna go right back up stairs & get on the PS3. My user name is "Renegade4304" but anyway...finally the weather here in Richmond is great. My allergies are not as bad since I started taking some meds. Hang on one moment, the phone is ringing...It's a just a bill collector so I'm not answering...anyway I really need to get my fat butt in the gym. I pay 80 bucks a month & I go once a week & still eat burgers. Anyone who has ever tried to lose weight knows that it's not easy. Life can be about habits. A habit is anything you do all the time. If you go to the gym then that's your habit. I'm at about 210 right now. My natural weight is about 175, at least that was it when I was a young boxer in my glory years. Speaking of boxing, Sean thinks I have a problem with aggression. I don't think I do. He says I like to much violence.....well I guess you can say that but I'm a guy, we hit stuff & blow things up right? At least that's what my dad did. My dad was in the Army & he raised me like I was too (not cool). I do miss being a kid sometimes though. No bills & all the free food you wanted. But the best years were college. The college years was the best because I lived like a kid but had the perks of an adult. That didn't last long though. Mothers day is coming up this Sunday. I lost my mom when I was 19 years old. I do have very fond memories of her though. I had the best mom in the world! I think every kid says that. My mom would make me laugh sooooooo hard. My mom was an old school mom. Once I dated this big ugly chick & my mom stopped talking to me. She said that if I didn't break up with her that she'd stop talking to me & you know she did! I was like fine then you ain't gotta talk to me, but when me & the girl broke up I was her son again...go figure. My mom had some strange ways to get my attention. She couldn't stand my dad though, I used to think she took it out on me but I know now that I'm just like him. My dad is crazy but I love him too. Now that I think of it both my parents were nuts, you can hear their crazy off spring every night at 7pm. See you at the top snitches!!!!

Big Keith’s Birthday Weekend

Today I’m reflecting on my weekend. I kind of celebrated my birthday with my friends & family. I had a really good time seeing people that I hadn’t seen in a long time. I do miss my son a lot though. He’s still in Detroit & was unable to make it. As I woke up on my birthday I didn’t really know how to feel. I woke up & let my legs hang over the bed & I just stared into space. I thanked God for another year. I look back over the past ten years of my life & I realize how far I’ve come. I’ve made a lot of mistakes over the past ten years but over all I think I did fairly well. I have a beautiful wife & kids. My career continues to flourish but I still had a since I emptiness. I’m not sure what I feel but I find myself wanting more from myself & life. I don’t know what I want though. I have everything I ever wanted. I couldn’t think of anything I don’t have that I want or need, but I still wanted more. I then knew what it was that I really wanted & that was a personal relationship with God. I pray often & read my bible but did I really know God? I stated to speak to God like he was sitting with me & immediately I noticed that sense of comfort surround me. I felt safe. I know what you’re thinking; no I’m far from crazy, but listen to what I’m saying….I felt safe. When you feel safe you smile more & live life like you have no worries. Sure the bill collectors will still call but your peace of mind will be there for you. I don’t know where I’m going with this but I felt like I needed to blog this morning & share my feelings. Praying & going to church are all important things but try to really know God. Have a personal relationship with him. Talk “out loud” to him, he’s listening.

Signed,
"BIG" KEITH

Little Miss “I’m Single”and C. Breezy’s PDA

Puppy love couple Rihanna and Chris Brown were caught getting it in at a club in Paris:

“They were aware of people watching them but couldn’t keep there hands off each other! It was a very sexy PDA. By the end of the evening, they were kissing passionately, and Rihanna was lying in Chris’s arms. If people weren’t sure if they were going out before, they certainly knew afterwards!” Ooooohhhhh.

Sean Anthony....Just Thoughts

People that are close to me, know that I am a very driven and self motivating person. So over the past several days, I have been feeling some what "stagnated" not really understanding why was I feeling that way. I have been seeking God and asking the Lord, "what is it that I need to be doing right now. I feel like I'm not doing anything to move forward and living on Purpose.

See ya'll I wrote a book, and I finished writing it. It is just in the final phases of completion. (Final edits, revisions and so forth...) I feel like I can be doing so much more to help getting it out and looking for people to help with something that may not be in the right season. So last night, I have this conversation with one of my spiritual brothers. (We hold each other accountable. So we can try to stay on that walk for Christ.) Anyway, he said something that reminded me of something I would always preach. "Maybe this is a time when you need to set still....................."

Hmmmm..... Maybe you are right! All of a sudden these scriptures and wisdom started hitting my spirit about season and so forth. "Maybe this is the time that God is working on you before your book comes out" he said. See, I wanted my book to come out in March, but it started to dawn on me that maybe GOD has another time for it to come out. I also began to realize that I have some things in the way spiritually that I know need to be removed and things that need to be put in place prior to my book coming out.

Look, I'm not a frequent blogger, so I really don't know where to go, but I will end it with this, Don't give up the good fight of faith. Let go, and let GOD. Finally, keep on pressing towards your goal!

Big Keiths Blog - Feb 19th

"Hello family, I'm at it once again, sharing some of my thoughts with the world. I'm normally not a TV person but this past weekend was a great time to watch television. Anyone who knows me well, knows that I'm a huge basketball fan. I played basketball when I was younger & was recruited but small schools. Needless to say, I love the NBA as well. But enough about me. Let's talk about NBA all-star weekend in New Orleans. This was the first All-star weekend that I can remember that I didn't see Shaq. Which is kinda unfortunate because Shaq went to school at LSU, just a short drive from New Orleans. I missed Friday's activities because I was on the air ( I forgot to TIVO). Saturdays event was great. The dunk contest was the best one that I've seen in bout 7 years, since Vince Carter stuck his whole arm in the hoop. That was nuts. Dwight Howard put on a Superman cape & flew through the air. Classic dunk, he didn't really dunk it though, he just kinda threw it through the hoop. To me that's always the best part of all star weekend, the dunk contest. The all star game is just always boring. They don't really play any defense. It's like a watered down version of "and 1" mix tape stuff. However I did watch the new Knight Rider movie/show. The new car is not a camaro. It's a super mustang that changes color. At first I thought it was kinda cheesy but then I realized their vision with the new show & I kinda like it. When I was a kid I used to have the Knight Rider car K.I.T.T. I thought that car was crazy, but this new K.I.T.T. blows the old one away. It can change colors MAN. CHANGE colors!! It also is bullet proof and can go like 300 miles an hour. Chicks dig the new K.I.T.T. too. My wife was even watching! Don't let me get my hands on that car, I'm riding down broad street in rush hour going 2 miles an hour so everybody see's me. lol"

Throwback Video of the Week - Thuggish Ruggish Bone

Thuggish ruggish Bone came out around 1994. I was working at the finish line & I was about 16 years old. We had a little radio that we'd play songs on while we were slow that was hidden behind some clothes. We played BONE & the entire store front became a dance floor. During that time, no rappers from Ohio had made it big yet, so that was huge to hear an Ohio artist on the radio. This song is now a classic. R.I.P. to Eazy E.

Barack Obama IS Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson

Thanks to Scott over at That's What He Said, we finally have a column that explains what's been bothering members of the Hernia staff over the past few weeks every time a Barack Obama commercial has aired. We can't tell you how many different times when we could only hear the audio of an Obama spot that we had to run to the TV out of sheer disbelief, wondering who the hell this captivating voice could be -- after all, the Rock had moved on to win Oscars in Hollywood. Well after humbly finding out it was not a commerical announcing The Rock's triumphant return to the WWF in WrestleMania XXXXIV, we did find it inspiring to know that a guy who could potentially be our next president used the persona of a retired professional wrestler to capture the hearts of the American people.
Take a listen to the videos below but check out what Scott had to say, we'd rather let him explain the rest, he summed up our thoughts quite well.

Obama Wins!

Barack Obama trounced Hillary Rodham Clinton last night in Virginia's Democratic presidential primary, while John McCain eked out a surprisingly tight win over Mike Huckabee in the Republican contest. Obama and McCain also prevailed in Maryland and the District of Columbia to sweep the so-called Potomac primary. In Virginia, more than 1.3 million voters went to the polls on a rainy day. As has been the case throughout the primary season, Democrats turned out in far larger numbers than did Republicans. "Today, the change we seek swept through the Chesapeake and over the Potomac," Obama said last night in Madison, Wis., where he campaigned ahead of Tuesday's primary. "We won the state of Maryland, we won the commonwealth of Virginia and though we won in Washington, D.C. this campaign won't stop until there is change in Washington, D.C." McCain took the stage at his victory party at an Alexandria hotel, saying: "Thank you voters of Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia for . . . a clean sweep of Chesapeake Tuesday." He added: "We are approaching the end of the first half of this election on quite an upswing." Eighty-five delegate votes were at stake in Virginia among the Democrats yesterday. It appeared that Obama would win about 50 of them. The Democrats apportion their delegates based on the popular vote. McCain gained all 60 delegates in the Republicans' winner-take-all primary. But the narrowness of the vote indicates a tough road ahead for McCain, who has had trouble connecting with conservative voters. Obama had such a commanding lead in Virginia's exit polls that several news organizations called him the winner before the voting ended. "Barack is the best candidate to unite our country and transform our politics in the cause of progress," said Gov. Timothy M. Kaine, who was the first governor outside of Obama's home state of Illinois to endorse the Illinois senator. "Today, voters showed confidence in Barack's ability to unite this country and transcend divisive Washington politics as usual," he added. But John H. Hager, the state Republican Party chairman, signaled the coming debate, by calling Obama "America's most liberal U.S. senator." "Despite his rhetoric he offers only the same old liberal policies of higher taxes, bigger government and retreat on the war on terror," Hager said. There were indications that some Republicans, thinking McCain was a sure thing, crossed over into the Democratic primary and voted for Obama. One of those Republicans, Dave Smith of Studley, said he and his friends voted for Obama because they thought McCain, an Arizona senator, did not need their votes and they were scared of the Clinton machine. The early returns showed that Democrats doubled the Republican turnout. Projections placed the turnout at more than 910,000 people in the Democratic primary, while almost 450,000 voted in the Republican primary. The turnout on the Democratic side was a record. The Manchester Middle School precinct in heavily Republican Chesterfield County ran out of Democratic ballots, and people waiting in line were left to vote on paper. Obama received 20,000 votes in Chesterfield. Clinton did not mention the Virginia results last night as she campaigned in El Paso, Texas ahead of its March 4 primary. "I'm tested. I'm ready. Now let's make it happen," she said. Huckabee, a former Arkansas governor, vowed that he will press on until someone clinches the GOP nomination. "When we don't win, we're disappointed, but we're not knocked out," he said. Rep. Robert C. Scott, D-3rd, an Obama supporter, said Obama's big win shows that Democrats can win the presidential election in Virginia this fall. Democrats have not carried the state since 1964. "With Mark Warner on the ballot, we stand a good chance," Scott said. This fall Warner, a former governor, will be the Democratic candidate for the seat of retiring Sen. John W. Warner, R-Va. The two are not related. The presidential election is Nov. 4.
Mark Rozell, political commentator at George Mason University, said Obama achieved a "huge" victory last night. "Momentum is on his side," Rozell said, noting that Obama did well in Virginia among constituents, such as low-income people, who have been backing Clinton.
As for McCain's unexpectedly narrow win, Rozell said "he is limping across the finish line."
The elections climaxed a weeklong presidential campaign that initially wasn't supposed to happen in Virginia. Virginia's primary came a week after Super Tuesday. Most experts once thought its contests in 24 states would settle both parties' nominations.
But Clinton and Obama fought to a virtual draw, leaving Virginia and its delegate votes suddenly important.

A Message from "Big" Keith

"Wow, what a weekend! iPower 92.1 launched it's kick off tour Friday at The Pearl lounge then again the next night at the Cotton Club. I had a really good time meeting people & seeing new faces. I was a little overwhelmed of all the love & support we're getting. The ladies gave hugs & the fellas daped us up. Felt great na mean. We probably took at least 500 pictures over the entire weekend (ask Sean to see some of the pics). Sat night after the club I went to the whip & noticed that I couldn't leave. The parking lot was taped off with Police tape. So I had to catch a ride back to my hotel (shout out to TUT for the lift). I couldn't get the whip until the next morning. I did however notice what similarities their was between the two nights between Friday night and Sat night. We would always meet a group of ladies that had at least ONE hatin female in the group!

OK....yall gotta stop hanging around hatin chicks. Sean & I make it a point to speak to everyone & treat everyone with the same respect. It's very funny when it's one out the bunch hatin cause no one is talking to her. Example: Group of ladies are together, you approach one & say "hey, what's good...yall wanna go to the waffle house afterwards?" All the ladies wanna go & chill except one. She's the one that no one is trying to get with so she's mad at at everybody! Every guy has had this happened to him. She's like "I ain't hungry"...LOL. Don't hate in 08!!!

But someone once told me, if you ain't got haters, you doing something wrong! So...I guess I just gotta get used to em."

Sean Anthony's Weekend Reflection

Every morning when I wake up, the first thing I do is thank God for allowing me to see another day. I then grab my bible and read a chapter of Proverbs. Being that today is January the 28th, I read the 28th chapter. I have been doing this just about every single day for the past 4 to 5 years. It kinda helps me set the tone for my day...

I then fixed a cup of coffee and began to reflect on my weekend and what I needed to do for the day. Of course we had our launch parties Friday and Saturday, which I met a lot of new people. I must admit, I had a lot of fun! The people in Richmond really know how to party hard.

Going to the clubs and having a good time is fine, but I began to ponder on how God will use me in this new city on this new station to impact the people. You may not know me, but my purpose in life is to motivate and inspire. With me being on the radio, this is simply a platform for me to do so. With all that is going on in the world such as; the war, the failing economy, and the upcoming election, when do we have time to smile? I must admit, life can sometimes be tough, but it's always good to laugh. However, laughter is medicine to the soul. Over the weekend Rambo did not come in number at the box office. It was the spoof from the movie "300", "Meet the Spartans." To me it was a reflection of what this country needs and wants, which is laughter. I'm not knocking the new Rambo flick. What I am saying is, based off of this weekend's box office, people would rather laugh than watch Rambo blow stuff up. I mean really, we see that on the news everyday.I'm not quite sure where I'm going with this blog, but I will conclude this by saying ,on my show from 7pm-12am, I will make an attempt to uplift the city by having a good time with laughter and entertainment.Sean Anthony

A Message From "Big" Keith

From time to time I find a clip that just makes me laugh so hard that I send it to all my friends. This one was different. I wanted to laugh at this clip but I just couldn't because my laughter turned to anger. I was upset because this man embarrassed him self on TV. TV has really changed. With all the reality television that has just smothered are TV's it's become a normal thing to see people like this man on television. To me this is not entertaining television. The Cosby Show was funny, The Jamie Foxx Show was funny....this is very embarrassing to me. Anyone that has had a family member that has been effected by drugs will agree. ok, ok....I'm lying...I did crack a smile a few times but that's no excuse. lol

A Message From "Big" Keith

"I'm on my soap box today. Today was a difficult day for me. I'm getting tired of staying in the hotel. I'd like a home cooked meal & to just relax in the comfort of my own home. I really miss my kids too. I woke up this morning thinking about a lot of things. I think I wanna start working out again. The problem is once I start, I always stop. Working out takes a lot of self discipline. It's not easy to do. I'm looking for a barber here in Richmond area. I have gotten three hair cuts & I still haven't found someone I'm totally happy with. I went out to some clubs on Sunday. I noticed how different the clubs are once I walked in. The first spot I went to was real "hood"..(my kinda spot). The next club I went to Sunday night was a lil bit more grown up & sexy (that's coo too). Shout out to Lonnie B who has shown me & Sean so much support since we got here. I had only been to Virginia once before so I didn't really know what to expect. I thought that it would be warm....I was dead wrong. The other night it was so cold that I questioned if I was really in the SOUTH. Some say Virginia is the mid-Atlantic...I'm from the north so to me Virginia is the south. Where is the warm weather?? Overall I'm very happy to be here. I've received a lot of love & support from everyone & I promise that we'll give you very memorable radio!"

Trey Songz Fights In Da Club

A lot of musicians have had hecklers interrupt their set, or had stuff thrown at them on stage. Some ignore it, some have lines to deal with it ("Hey, man, this is my job. Do I go to where you work and knock the dick out of your mouth?"), and some just make sure the club's security throws the troublemakers out.
And then there's guys like Trey Songz, who joins his bodyguard in allegedly beating and robbing a man who threw some ice at him on stage. A public (and well-taped, thanks to Media Takeout) beatdown like this is sure to garner him plenty of respect on the corner. It's a move that goes well with those earlier fashion spreads and that rumored relationship with Raven-Symone...
